| Born
in 1979, Andrea Sarto studied Composition under the guide of M° Paolo Aralla at the Conservatory of Bologna, where he graduated in 2007. In 2005 he's been Guest Student at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, specializing with Lars Ekstrom, Par Lindgren and Bill Brunson. Since 2006 he collaborates with M° Antonio Politano at the Conservatoire de Lausanne (Switzerland). In this frame he took part in 2008 in the PRIME project, with compositions for recorders and live electronics, premièred in Lausanne and performed in Weimar, Lipsia, Berlin, L'Aja. His works have been selected in international and national competitions. Among the others, the International Gaudeamus Composer Competition (September 2007); Iceberg Festival (Bologna, 2008); International Young Composers' Festival (Lecco, 2001). He attended workshops and Master Classes with M° Luca Francesconi (Malmö Academy of Music, 2006 and Stresa EAR-Labs, 2006); Gérard Pesson, Toshio Hosokawa, Georges Aperghis, Olga Neuwirth (Atélier ACANTHES, Metz, 2006); ISCSM – International Summer Course for Composers and String players (Mirencourt,2005). His works have been performed in Metz, Malmö, Stresa, Mirencourt, Bologna, Bergamo, Rome (“What's Next”, Nova Consonanza), and broadcasted in various occasions by Rai – Radio3. He is currently completing a degree in Electronic Music with Lelio Camilleri and attending a Master Class with Ivan Fedele in Rome, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. |
