NK starts making music at the age of 13 as Nikkie drummer/vocalist of one of the first grind core bands in Italy named "Cerebral Disfunction", releasing their demo "Sensations of Nausea" back in 1989" and successively as vocalist/guitarist of a death metal band called "Crematorium" releasing, in 1990, their first 4 track demo "Chained to Torment" and in 1991 "Rehearshal Tape 21/04/91" with totally positive feedbacks from, at the time, the fanzines
worldwide (check for crematorium (ita) and cerebral disfunction on www.metal-archives.com)...

Then, at the age of 17, leaves for London and shortly joins a quite well known local death metal band, "Salem Orchid" (now named Akercocke), but after the splitting of this last one, decides to make music on his own, after 4 years living in the UK working in a record shop, gets into electonic music and starts buying his first dance vinyls, then back in Italy, with a pair of decks starts his new life as "Dj Nikki L" (mostly wiritten simply "Nikki")... Begins in 1995 with his nu trance project "Space Candies" (then named "Space Spices") bringing in town and around the first "goa/psy" open air raves througout '96/'97 and starting together with "Mr. Smart" the entire massive trance scene that now still is in the whole of Italy.
Then his musical taste changes into detroit and tekno, buys himself a drum machine, a synth and starts using them during his dj sets, givin them a taste of live playing together with crews as Mutoid Waste Co., No Name, Tekno Mobil Squad, Worotek, etc... But the use of machines changes his way of making music, and in 1999 gathers a 5 piece trip hop live project called "Hidden Gaze", shortly forwarding his career as a drum'n'bass producer together with Geenobronx and changes his name to "Dj Nk".

The crew, named "Basstaste", starts hitting straight to the point with "Basstation", a worldwide radio network streaming based on Radio K (local) inside a structure called "Link", an institution in town for drum'n'bass, reaching in a few years almost every dancefloor around Italy after their first release on vinyl "Nu Generation" on "Basstation's" Plex Records (2001), playng aside realities like dj Trace, dj Kane, Simon "Bassline" Smith, to quote some... Released on every "Italian Bassline" compilation made by AFUN Recordings and remixed by Modulate Recording's main artists on their second release...

In 2007, dj Nk, Ivic aka Perfect Unknown and Geenobronx give birth, from the ashes of the latest crew "Guerriglia Funk", to the latest drill'n'thrill neurofunk madness, "Hallucinator"
