"The desire to play with one's fears rather than be enslaved by them, transforming one's nightmares into a better world to live in and draw inspiration from. A dark, sexy, and enticing world that encourages stepping out of one's comfort zone and donning a new skin to find a different and better version of ourselves. 'Incubi' was a journey, a path," says Beatrice Lambertini. "At the beginning, I wanted to talk about my nightmares, my fears. It happens to everyone more or less to have very imaginative dreams, and I am one of those people. But the more material I collected to write, the more I wanted to play with these fears I had, so I went beyond, seeking a free, magical space. In the end, only the music of these fears remained." "Incubi" is Beatrice Lambertini's new single, and it leaves us breathless. The familiar suggestions we associate with the Bolognese singer transform throughout the song, becoming increasingly powerful with each beat, culminating in a hypnotic dance that reinterprets Caribbean rhythms in a dark and dreamy Nordic atmosphere. "Incubi" could be a dancehall party organized by Tim Burton, the theme song of a TV series, or a track you can listen to and dance to in a nightclub, but above all, it's a vision of Beatrice like you've never heard her before. The writing style has also changed. Among the references, we find those that reinterpret horror fiction in an urban key, such as "I'm the Kenwood of zombies," as well as those directed at showbiz personalities, like "I bring popcorn and Crime&Comedy," referring to the podcast by Clara Campi and Marco Champier, "crime told by two comedians." Beatrice is not a comedian, but by entertaining us and having fun herself, she welcomes us into her own fears. And that's precisely the underlying vision of "Incubi," mixing fun with noir.
