The cover of Junio's record made by Miraloop For Brands presents an illustration full of details. The sky full of stars embraces a midnight blue blurred by grains of desert sand, in the distance the creation of the mountains with light gray shades are illuminated by a light that forms a circle creating that ray of sun that sets the cloak on fire. Represented by a fiery red with very bright tones, Junio with his gaze turned towards the horizon.
The poetic references range from Hollywood entertainment science fiction to the more introspective Solaris-style science fiction, from the American impact western to the classic 1960s Cinecittà. Looking at the bright colours and shades of warm colours in contrast with the cold blue of the sky, we are already reminded of the notes of Morricone, John Wayne's guns. But from the sky, an eclipse moon is reflected on the sand of the Yankee desert, projecting a mirror mosaic like a disco mirrorball. Yes, because Western Tales is not only a dirty, hard and nasty disco, but also full of incandescent rhythms between dub and pure electronics. The starry sky was made by hand and then projected into computer graphics.
The whole Junio project is illustrated in this style. There are differences between albums and singles. While the album recalls an open landscape, the singles that launch the album are stories of details, objects and collages seen up close. Here is Red Plume and Bleeding Hut, among bird feathers, gold nuggets, tomahawk and blood splashes.
