"Venezia" is the debut single by Treviso-based singer-songwriter Francesco Maguolo, released during Carnival 2026, just before Sanremo. With a distinctly indie-pop sound, the track immediately draws the listener into a warm, almost urban atmosphere, with subtle jazz tones (“the train window…”) before expanding into the epic echoes of a Renaissance and Baroque Venice in the chorus. Venice is underwater again tonight.

It is a song charged with emotion, capturing the confusion of those moments when neither the destination nor the starting point is clear — yet the feeling of what is being lived is unmistakable.

"Venezia was born during a difficult summer, when thoughts often kept sleep away. Every night, from the nearby station, I could hear the announcement of the last train to Venice, and many times I wondered whether it was worth spending one of those sleepless nights wandering instead of lying awake in bed. Then, at 5 a.m., hearing the first train returning, I thought that maybe it would have been worth going after all. One day, I went to the station… and began writing a few lines about it."
